Its been about two weeks since I’ve moved to Seattle. I really love it here, and I could wax poetic about how its such a positive improvement over Syracuse. But its time to hunker down and refocus on my studies. Here is Plate 1 of the Bargue plates.
The point of the exercise is to copy exactly what you see on the left column. My version is in the middle column and the rightmost is an overlay of the original (in white) over mine (black.) The red dots are to align the cross hairs.
I thought this exercise was going to be terribly dry but ended up being very soothing and methodically hypnotising. You do have to force yourself into a “zen state” in order to match the drawing perfectly. The first one is loose in accuracy, the 2nd two are much better and the last drawing was done the day after the first 3. I’m looking forward to working my way through the rest of the plates.
We did it! I’m finally on my way to Seattle.
Im aboout done with studying torso anatomy, so I bench market it with a study. To be later rendered when I have more time. Another gesture drawing, and a robot devil.
I love seeing exposed robot parts in an otherwise humanoid shaped robot. Just exploring the design with the mind’s eye, fitting parts together and rationalizing functionality and movement is very fascinating.
Just wish there were more robot fans then the transformer-yaoi fangirls.

Today a sketchbook dump, I’m about half way through my latest book, 43 pages of Robo boobs, My little Pony doodles and weird self portraits. Yea that’s me with the bleeding eyeball heart, dreaming about Seattle or rocking a #13 space suit.
The angel and the devil on my shoulders take the form of The Dude and Bernard Black.
So basically I got this in one ear:
And this in the other:
Sketchbook doodles, forever drawing robot catgirls
